ROLE OF WINDOWS DEFENDER

The role of Windows Defender in protecting a Windows operating system.

• Windows Defender s now known as Microsoft Defender Antivirus
• This is security solution provided by Microsoft.
• It protects to the system from various types of malware including viruses, spyware, ransomware, rootkit, and other malicious software.

Role in Protecting the OS:

1. Real time protection: Monitors the system continuously for malicious software and threats, blocks them directly.
2. Threat Detection and Removal: Scans files, programs, and downloads to identify and eliminate known threats using signature-based and heuristic analysis.
3. It is tightly integrated with WINDOWS 
4. Regularly receives updates for recogniz the new threats.
5. Works with Windows Security Center to provides details of their security status.

This will be sufficient to understand the Role.
